Table Runner/Placemat Valances

I bought this table runner at Cost Plus World Market a few weeks ago and loved it, but kept thinking about how it would make a great valance. Our office is really boring with a dark wood desk covering one wall and a beige sofa bed on another. Also, with beige walls and floors it needed some spice. We also have the faux wood blinds on our windows with panels that clip into the top. The absolutely easiest way to get it hung is to simply slide the top of the fabric under the clips. It's a little tight and I'm worried it might fall in some areas so I may end up tacking it with some hot glue.

Then we have this side window and I went back to the store to see what I could find in matching fabric. I went with two placemats with a similar design. This time I did use hot glue. I simply glued a line on the very top of the tab and pressed down the placemat.

Next, I added the second placemat overlapping the first. Start on the opposite end so it lays evenly. Then press your new valance into the tabs and you have instant valances!
I may end up adding big buttons or fringe to finish it. Now for the pillows......
